Courtesy and © Piet OudolfĮqually as fascinating as the photographs of the end result of his projects are the drawings Oudolf uses to plan them. Oudolf's hand-drawn plans for the Vitra campus in Germany. “Oudolf has thus succeeded in emancipating planting design as an art form in its own right, bringing it out of its niche and on to the big stage,” writes fellow gardener Cassian Smith. ![]() ![]() A photographic anthology of his greatest outdoor work as well as a poetic ode to his creativity (thanks to several essays by his contemporaries), it offers a complete look at Oudolf and his legacy. “That happened when I met plants.”Ī new book Piet Oudolf: At Work, published tomorrow by Phaidon, proves how inarguable his impact is. “I always had a strong feeling that I could do something different,” Oudolf previously said. (Just to name a few.) Currently, most consider him the most famous person in his field. But, hundreds of millions of people have: The Dutch landscape designer is the mastermind behind New York City’s High Line and Battery Park, Chicago’s Lurie Garden in Millennium Park, London’s Queen Elizabeth Park, the entry to Toronto’s Botanical Garden, and the Vitra Campus in Southwest Germany. It is probably an exaggeration to say everyone has walked through a Piet Oudolf garden. ![]()

5/23/2023 0 Comments The One Woman by Laura May![]() ![]() ![]() The author did a wonderful job describing the scenery and events in Tel Aviv, Barcelona, Kyiv, and Los Angeles. I loved that story is told from both main characters’ points of view which worked well with the plot as the reader was able to experience all of their thoughts, feelings, and emotions. This is Laura May’s debut novel and in my opinion, she is going to have a successful career as a writer of Sapphic fiction. Can true love survive when the timing is all wrong? Go ahead and throw them in the lake, it's more fun that way. Do that, and you can quietly sneak behind him and grab them without him noticing. The easiest way to do this is to move the cooler around so he has to pick it up with both hands. To do this, you need to grab the keys from the Groundskeeper's side while he's distracted. You can also complete this task by making the Groundskeeper wade in the lake nearby, which he'll do if he's trying to get an item that you threw in there back. You can make him come close by stealing and item and putting it next to the sprinkler. ![]() Turn on the hose when the groundskeeper is nearby and he'll get wet. If you’re looking for a Vegas marriage, a struggling celebrity, a little suspense and an independent heroine Affinity is one to check out!Ī Fast-Paced Light-hearted Story With Suspense to keep things Interesting! I loved getting more of Harlow’s previous characters from her Fairlane series, too. There were some unexpected things with this story and a little bit of suspense/drama. It was easy to fall in love with both Jenner and Abbi. The progression of their relationship was quick, however, I loved how they helped each other out. The banter between them throughout the story is amazing and hilarious at times. What’s the worst that can happen?įrom the start there was chemistry between Abbi and Jenner, though sometimes it was more towards the side of dislike, but there is plenty of lust and attraction between them. ![]() However, Abbi and Jenner just so happen to be in this very predicament and are forced to see it out. Cut off from the world and left on their own, the teenagers soon form rival tribes who viciously compete for food, medicine, social dominance, and even human flesh. Park policy was that the mostly college-aged employees surrender their electronic devices to preserve the authenticity of the FantasticLand experience. ![]() How could a group of survivors, mostly teenagers, commit such terrible acts? Presented as a fact-finding investigation and a series of first-person interviews, FantasticLand pieces together the grisly series of events. A modern take on Lord of the Flies meets Battle Royale that probes the consequences of a social civilization built online. ![]() 5/22/2023 0 Comments The captive prince book 3![]() Laurent stays true to character and it isn’t until the end we start to see a crack and the possibilities of what might be underneath. She doesn’t rush the process, like in some romances, by having Damen break through Laurent’s cruel and cold exterior with only his heart of gold. ![]() I love the way the author slowly peels back layers of Laurent’s personality. To me, his most important role is introducing us to Prince Laurent of Vere. But from him we see how both kingdoms are run and the cultural differences between them. Kind of generic hero with his survivor and selfless attitudes. The book is told from Prince Damianos (Damen) of Akeilos’ POV. They must become allies by circumstance in order to survive. This story is about how two princes are betrayed, and the political maneuvering by their families to basically get rid of them. While sex is talked about and happening off screen, there is no romance in this book. ![]() If you are shy of gay romance then this might be a good book to dip your toes in. ![]() I was pleasantly surprised that Berkley is publishing what is essentially a gay romance. ![]() ![]() ![]() This route will suit students whose qualifications fall below the entry requirements to undergraduate study and/or those whose English language level does not meet the minimum criteria.
